Happy first year anniversary! How time flies. I wish you more years and anniversary celebrations to come. I feel sad because I can’t be with everyone in the celebration. But I do hope you’ll update some of your posts so that everyone who might not make it in your celebration can still see and read the demos and everything.

Glad to hear you guys were able to celebrate. A reward richly deserved for all the work you guys have put in. I’m actually trawling for research purposes though. I’m curious, how much work has been done on applications designed to create slimmed down web pages? I’ve been reading a lot lately about the possibility that in the near future web access will be done through mobile devices rather than PCs. As a result, many online companies have already shifted so that they offer both normal and mobile versions of their sites. Yet the advent of the Iphone seems to throw some of these forecasts into question, since – at least according to their most recent commercials – they have enough memory and enough screen size to handle normal-sized web pages. Meaning that programming for these smaller-sized sites would be obsolete. Are you guys betting on one horse or the other in putting together your library?

[...] I blogged this over on the YUIBlog last week (You’re Invited: YUI First Year Party), but figured I’d quickly post a notice here too in case you missed it. There are still a few dozen RSVP slots open, but they probably won’t last long. [...]

[...] At 6:30 there will be a brief presentation by the YUI team. After that we’ll have “built-with-YUI mini-demos”, where some of you can take the stage for 5 minutes to show off how you’ve been using the YUI Library. There’s only time for a handful of these quick talks before resuming the music and party around 7:15, so leave a note in the comments or send me an email directly (natek at yahoo-inc dot com) to get your proposal in.
If it seems like there's a strange lack of talented Python programmers using YUI that day, it's because they've all gone to PyCon :) Sorry I'm going to have to miss this!
