Since 2007, Douglas Crockford has been developing (and delivering) a lecture series on the JavaScript programming language. Many of those lectures have been recorded and made available as part of the YUI Theater video series. Douglas has delivered many of the talks at conferences around the world.
In the first few months of 2010, Douglas will be delivering the full series of JavaScript talks with updated content as part of an event entitled “Crockford on JavaScript”. The event will take place over five evenings in January, February, and March at Yahoo! headquarters in Sunnyvale, CA. Attendance is free, but seating is limited — a full schedule including links to RSVP is available on the event website.
Thanks to YUI engineer Allen Rabinovich for the poster design.

I’d love to be there, but it’s not going to happen. Will the series make it to the YUI Theater?

Andrew — I try to get everything of interest at Yahoo! up on YUI Theater, and this won’t be any exception. -Eric

Hey! Are you also broadcasting it live on internet. if yes please share the links.

@Tejaswi — No, we’re not planning to do a live webcast. There should be some good ways to consume the content after it is recorded, though, so stay tuned to YUIBlog for those when they come out. And, in the meantime, there’s a lot of Crockford content up on YUI Theater (http://developer.yahoo.com/yui/theater/) even today, so check that out. -Eric

Hi Eric,
First of all, thank you so much for YUI Theater…it’s such a valuable learning tool, I can’t even begin to describe how helpful it’s been.
Two questions for you…will there be slides like previous lectures, and is there any chance of having some sort of Q&A session with Doug about the material he goes over?
Thanks!

Vinny,
Yes, there will be slides — last night’s PowerPoint file is available now at http://yuiblog.com/assets/crockonjs-1.zip
When you see the video posted on YUIBlog, you can use the comments section there for questions; those will make their way to Douglas. I wouldn’t commit to him answering every question, but he’ll make every effort to answer meaningful questions that come in on the blog.
